Welcome to the Town of Forestburgh town hall

Beginning on Monday July 25th, 2011
The Town of Forestburgh will be offering Adult Swim with water aerobics from 12:30-1:30pm Monday thru Friday.
All adult residents of the Town are invited and encouraged to participate in this program.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Forestburgh will hold a Special Year End meeting at the Town Hall on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Forestburgh is one of the smallest of the fifteen towns of Sullivan County, bordered by Thompson, Lumberland and Mamakating. Early inhabitants in the 1780’s were of Celtic, German and Swedish ancestry. David Handy and his wife were the first known white settlers. His occupation was shinglemaker, due to the abundance of virgin Hemlocks and unusual springs. Mr. Handy died about 1814 and a historical marker in Oakland Valley indicates this.
